Liberal Media misses some numbers and events. We’ll fill you in.

I’m a bit of a news hound but I simply don’t recall seeing or hearing anything about the huge turnouts for recent pro-marriage rallies held around the country.  And then when the liberal media did report it, they seemed to get a little mixed-up as to actual numbers.  Strange, huh?!

For example when 15-20 THOUSAND people show up to support traditional marriage, like all good Canadians do, it’s not very fair or balanced or even remotely “accurate” to report the turnout as “4,000” people.

I wonder why the liberal media would report it as being roughly 1/4 to 1/5 the actual size.  It’s almost like they want Canadians to believe the support for marriage is 1/4 to 1/5 as strong as it actually is.  But that couldn’t be it because they’re fair and balanced and not liberal at all.

The official estimate of the crowd given by March for Marriage organizers at the huge rally before Parliament on Saturday was 20,000.  RCMP confirmed the number at more than 15,000.  While the national broadcaster CBC went with the police estimate of 15,000, much of the biased Canadian media reported 4000 attendees, a falsehood demonstrating a bias beyond even a mediocre attempt at fair and balanced coverage.

[…] John Pacheco, the principal organizer of the March wrote to CanWest news service regarding a report by CanWest and CP reporters Eric Beauchesne and Jim Bronskill which claimed only 4000 attended the March.  “I do not understand how such distortion can further your credibility with thousands of residents of Ottawa who were there and know the truth,” wrote Pacheco.  “And it was a slap in the face to the thousands who travelled 5-8 hours from all parts of Ontario and Quebec to attend the rally,” he added.

Wow.  Liberal mainstream media reporters must have been educated in public schools or something.  Hard to figure.

Then there’s all the missing stories.  The mainstream media must have run out of typewriter ribbon.  And camera film.

Pro-Marriage Groups Draw 7,000 Plus
at Rallies across Canada

LONDON, KINGSTON, and SCARBOROUGH, Ontario, RICHMOND, BC, April 26, 2005 (LifeSiteNews.com) — Four rallies in the past weeks since the March for Marriage on parliament hill, saw almost 7,000 people in total coming out to defend marriage.

A rally in London, Ontario’s Victoria Park drew 5,000 people April 17 — organizers said it was “the largest political rally ever held in the city.” Those in attendance heard speeches from local Liberal MP Pat O’Brien, Islam Imam Dr. Munir El-Kassem, the Evangelical Fellowship’s Janet Buckingham, Defend Marriage’s Dr. Charles McVety and Citizen Impact of Canada President Jack Baribeau.

While convincing Members of Parliament to vote against Paul Martin’s anti-marriage Bill C-38 continues to be its primary goal, Defend Marriage is now also moving towards a two-pronged campaign of also winning the marriage vote in the next general election, their web site explained.

“Nomination battles are heating up all across Canada,” said Roy Beyer, the Operations Director of the Defend Marriage Trust . “Those that support one man one woman marriage need to join a political party and be prepared to vote for pro-marriage candidates at the nomination level.”

Rallies in Kingston drew 400, while another in Scarborough, Ontario on the same day, April 17, drew over 500. Scarborough Liberal MPs Tom Wappel, John Cannis, Derek Lee, Dan McTeague and Jim Karygiannis spoke strongly in defence of traditional marriage along with a past Conservative candidate and local religious leaders of Christian and non-Christian denominations. Participants reported being astonished by the overwhelmingly positive and loud support expressed by a large volume of passersby who saw the pro-marriage signs as they drove by the rally. The Scarborough rally was organized by the local Canadians for the Defence of Marriage and the Family organization.

Campaign Life Coalition BC reported over 1200 participants at the rally in Richmond on April 23.

I wonder if they’ll cover the gay pride parades this summer.  I hope the wagon train shipping their order of typewriter ribbon and camera film arrives by summer.

image Have I mentioned that Fox News Channel is available to Canadians now that the CRTC ban against it has been officially lifted?  Yes!  Rogers, Shaw and most Cogeco Cable subscribers, as well as Star Choice Satellite subscribers can all get the fantastic Fox News Channel by giving them a call.
