Christmas is, among other things, a time of hope

So I thought this article today in the National Post was suitable fodder for Christmas Eve morning—for the millions of us conservative Canadians.

The month-old federal election campaign has tightened into a close race between the Liberals and Tories and would likely produce a minority Conservative government if the vote was held now, a new poll has found.

[…] Moreover, because the Tories have turned the vote-rich Ontario battleground into a draw with the Liberals, Ipsos Reid says a Conservative victory “would be the probable outcome” if voters went to the polls today.

I hesitate to quote more of the article lest it kill my buzz.

Oh and in the spirit of Christmas, I hope the Liberals can somehow pay off their enormous debts—using their own money.

Liberal Party $33 MILLION in debt

According to Elections Canada, in their last annual filing, the Liberal Party of Canada was $34,818,257.32 in debt, by way of 13 bank loans. The Bloc Quebecois has more than $10 million in outstanding loans, mostly from the Caisse Desjardins. The NDP has several modest loans outstanding, totalling a little more than $3 million. The Conservatives are debt-free.
