Vancouver Sun, Liberals, other left-wing parties, in disgraceful act of desperation

UPDATED WITH A READER’S LETTER TO THE EDITOR – below

imageThe liberal-left’s Vancouver Sun (a Canwest paper – related to Global TV) gleefully picks up the picayune, BS-based sleaze story from the Liberal Party leaders.  And then refines it into purer sleaze for their pages and the for the altruistic “information” and “edification” of Canadians.  Follow along, you dumb clucks.

Liberals (Michael Ignatieff) and other left-wing opposition folks (the anti-Canada Bloc-head Gilles Duceppe and his minions) spent their taxpayer-paid time in our Parliament yesterday behaving like busy-body idiots, bashing (unmarried) Conservative Foreign Affairs Minister Maxime Bernier over the head for having an ex-girlfriend —one who, it is grandly reported, happened to have some kind of relationship-turned-sour with someone in the Hell’s Angels, at one point in time.  They were trying to play it up as though Bernier was therefore causing some sort of a “security risk” for our nation.  And as if they care about that.

Islamofascist terrorists and suspected terrorists;  the savage Taliban in Afghanistan;  Saddam Hussein and his Iraq:  liberal-leftists are fine with these chaps.  It’s Conservatives and their ex-girlfriends who are the real risk to our nation.

image In some of the sleaziest, shoddiest, most despicable journalism I’ve seen in at least a day, The Vancouver Sun (a Canwest paper – related to Global TV) displays the story in a huge article about it, then under it, stuffs a story—separate but by insinuation fully related—about other politicians and their perverted, sex-related, or marriage-breaking actions.  The headline:  “Recent history brims with tales of politicians’ sexual dalliances”. Written by Misty Harris, Canwest News Service.

In it, they make direct comparisons with the sleaze ball Eliot Spitzer (married with three daughters, liberal Democratic, now-former Governor of New York) who was caught a few months ago using prostitutes in a prostitution rap; the married Vladimir Putin and his filthy bear paws which were all over a 24-year-old gymnast;  the married Bill Clinton and the infamous, disgusting story of his spreading his sperm all over the White House on young underlings’ dresses (etc);  and more.

Exactly how is it that the story behind Mr. Bernier’s ex-girlfriend is in any way a “sexual dalliance” of that sort?  In what way is it related to any of these “sexual dalliances?”  Of course it’s not in any way related.  It’s utter BS to even remotely make the comparison, or to allow that possible implication.

They’re a total disgrace. All of them.

In other news, you can’t trust a liberal media with a political agenda, nor one which is full of vindictive, petty, anti-conservative BS.

This is a separate story.  No really.

EXTRA:

image Since Prime Minister Harper’s wife Laureen (seen at left—with husband—in what the Vancouver Sun might call a “sexual dalliance”) famously rides a motorcycle, I wonder if the liberal-left and their media division are going to ask him or her some questions—and make some asinine insinuation—as to the possible knowledge or indeed involvement Mrs. Harper might have with the Hell’s Angels.  “For national security reasons (—wink!)”

EXTRA FEEDBACK:
A reader wrote a letter to the editor of the Vancouver Sun:

Hi Joel,

My letter to the editor,

To compare Mr. Bernier to scum like Spitzer or Clinton is utter nonsense.

Misty Harris must be having a sexual dalliance with the idiot(s) who decided to run this “story”.

But thanks for reinforcing why I quit subscribing to The Sun years ago.

And Gerry Nicholls sent me his letter to the editor of the National Post:

FYI—My letter to the editor on the Maxime Bernier “affair” was the top “Letter of the Day” in today’s National Post.

Re: Ex-Girlfriend’s Biker Ties Debated In House, May 9.

The Liberal Party of Canada has officially hit rock bottom. With all the important issues facing this country—war in Afghanistan, possible economic recession, soaring gas prices—the Liberals have chosen instead to focus public attention on the sex life of Cabinet minister Maxime Bernier. How sleazy. How sad.

It seems the once proud party of Laurier, King and Pearson, the party some have called the “most successful political machine in Western democracy,” is now simply the political equivalent of The National Enquirer.
