The Crown speaks, translated; Cotler barks.

Liberals spoke on TV today.  It was captured by the Canadian news media.  No really.

But it was hard to understand—harder than usual.  So I’ll try to make a digital copy for you all, of the French language remarks by our esteemed Minister of the Crown, Pierre Pettigrew. I call him “Minister of the Crown” because he’s all about his crown.

Pierre Pettigrew's crown

He spoke, in French, to all of us Canadians, about the sad and important Cambodian kidnapping and murder of one of our own.  For about 30 seconds.  It was traslated into some kind of foreign language by the CTV translator. The French-to-English translator, who was clearly French-speaking, spoke non-English in his translation.  So that makes it hard.

Hang on, later, the Minister of Gay Justice, Irwin Cotler, began to bark —and I do mean bark because that’s what he does—about gay marriage.  Yelling and barking at Canadians—that’s what Cotler does.  I want to give him a Milkbone so he stops talking.  I want all liberals to stop talking just for a day.

That same CTV French/English translator translated Cotler’s weird barky-French, or at least half of it (inexplicably, he seemed to miss the other half of it) into a non-English language of some kind. I understood Cotler’s French better because I recognized some of the words.  I have a dog.
