Mere hours ago I blogged about how every facet of Canadian life is chock full of liberals—stuffed like a happy tree festivus turkey with half-cooked liberal giblets.  Liberals appointed by Liberals over the decades.  And about how a nation, and its new Conservative government, now has to eat that. 

Mere hours have only to go by in Canada before another example of liberals appointed by liberals and liberals permeating every facet of our lives and our culture oozes out again. 

Court: Feds can’t deny Khadr a passport

TORONTO (CP) – Ottawa was wrong to use national security concerns as the basis for denying the passport application of the son of a suspected al-Qaida financier two years ago, a Federal Court judge ruled Friday.

New anti-terror provisions didn’t legally exist when Abdurahman Khadr was denied a new passport in early 2004, and therefore shouldn’t have been used to deny him a passport, Justice Michael Phelan said in a written decision.

As a result, the Canadian Passport Office will have to reconsider Khadr’s application under the old rules.

“For me, to have my passport is just to feel like a full citizen,” Khadr told a news conference.

“To travel is a choice, is another right that I’m given in this country. Where I’m going to travel to, I don’t know at this point.”
