So you agree, then. It is not a story, and never was a story.

Have you been following the saga that never was?  The ghost story?  The non-story that was nonetheless making all the headlines?

Read my blog entries here, here, and here to catch up.  It will only take a second and it is an extremely valuable lesson in how the media messes with your mind while also attempting to screw the Conservative Party of Canada.  Since my first blog entry about this was entitled “How the media makes a mountain out of a mole hill – 101”, this whole saga (that never was) will form lesson one if I ever get around to writing it out and donating it to Mr. Manning’s elite conservative classes.

Imagine my surprise when I read this headline:  “MacKay staying put, never planned run at N.S. premiership: source”.  And note liberal media word-usage of “source” who never existed before, but has now magically appeared!  Amazing how that happens!  Those wily “sources”!

Tory MP Peter MacKay will not make a run for the leadership of the Nova Scotia Conservative party and never planned to, a source has told The Canadian Press.

“He’s told the leader that he’s staying put and always told (Stephen) Harper his plans were to stay with the caucus here,” the source said Tuesday. The official announcement is to made at the regular weekly Conservative caucus meeting Wednesday.

The fact that MacKay confided in Harper all along that he would not run provincially may explain why Harper never went out of his way to urge his deputy leader to stay in Ottawa, the source said.

Harper and MacKay talked about the situation Monday night. […]

You’d think they in the liberal media would at least feign an apologetic tone for getting it all completely wrong and causing such negative—albeit completely bogus as we can now see—“news” about the Conservative Party.  You’d think they’d be embarrassed, and then you recall that they’re liberals writing this stuff, and nothing embarrasses them.

And oh yeah! Let us not forget that they’re not bloggers, they’re journalists, and so therefore they are professionals that can be trusted to get the facts right.
