The headline is: “CSIS weakened by language divide”.
See, it seems those French speakers and those English speakers in our spy agency just can’t speak each other’s language. In the U.S. through the 1990s, the FBI and the CIA developed a problem communicating with each other for other reasons. That did not achieve the desired result.
CSIS surely communicates with the American CIA and FBI as well as the spies in the UK. I doubt they speak French.
So shouldn’t English be the official language of intelligence?
