Possible proof that Canada is still under liberal rule? Susan Sarandon.

…Or of course it could be proof that Susan Sarandon is an idiot.

The great Media Research Center mentioned Canada—or rather hard left-winger and genius political strategist and demi-Goddess actress Susan Sarandon did, today in their CyberAlerts.

If McCain Wins, Sarandon Threatens (Promises!?) to Leave U.S.

Catching up with a quote from a British newspaper interview published May 24 that got some play in the U.S. late last week, actress Susan Sarandon told John Hiscock of London’s Telegraph she’ll consider moving to Italy or Canada if John McCain wins over Barack Obama. In an interview to promote the British release of the Speed Racer movie and the DVD release of her anti-Iraq war film, In the Kingdom of Elah, Sarandon fumed: “If McCain gets in, it’s going to be very, very dangerous….It’s a critical time, but I have faith in the American people. If they prove me wrong, I’ll be checking out a move to Italy. Maybe Canada, I don’t know. We’re at an abyss.”

Both Italy and Canada are under “conservative”—or at least not overtly left-wing—leadership “abysses” right now.  Does she even know that?  I really doubt it, even though she’s a political genius.  Or maybe this is actually an indication of just how far to the left our political spectrum has shifted recently.

Whatever.  Can we please have her?  She would be among the best unwitting promoters of conservatism in Canada, and we need all the help we can get since conservatives in Canada do almost exactly nothing to advance the cause.  Get Gloria Steinem and Jane Fonda too!

Speaking of the radical leftists Jane Fonda and Gloria Steinem (who sound very much like communists to me), here’s another MRC Cyberalert today which instantly put me in the mind of the state-owned, state-run CBC here in Canada, which never identifies far-left Huffington Post (or most any left wing group) as even remotely “left wing”, reserving that kind of pigeon-holing to conservative groups or guests only….

ABC Highlights Media Matters Video; Probes Sexism Against Hillary

ABC’s Good Morning America on Friday again investigated the issue of whether sexism has handicapped Hillary Clinton’s presidential campaign. To do so, reporter Claire Shipman featured a video from the Women’s Media Center, a group partnered with the left-wing organization Media Matters. The video featured clips of various journalists harshly attacking Clinton. Shipman didn’t mention the connection to Media Matters and simply described the organization as one that “doesn’t endorse a specific candidate” and “has put together a greatest hits video called ‘Sexism Sells.’”

In fact, the WMC’s website describes the group as “as a non-partisan, non-profit progressive women’s media organization [founded] by the writers/activists Jane Fonda, Robin Morgan, and Gloria Steinem.” Is it not incumbent on ABC to identify the group’s liberal outlook and its connection to Media Matters? At the beginning of the piece, co-host Diane Sawyer solemnly intoned that the possible end of the New York Senator’s presidential quest “has the Clinton campaign crying foul and even raising questions of sexism. Did that play a role in this campaign?”

Speaking of news media stars lying and misinforming by omission and obfuscation, may I present Wolf Blitzer?  Please enjoy.

CNN’s Blitzer to McClellan: Is President Bush ‘A Serial Liar?’

CNN’s Wolf Blitzer made little effort to hide his liberal viewpoint during an interview of Scott McClellan on Friday’s The Situation Room. After asking the former White House Press Secretary about his “revival” of the question of whether President Bush used cocaine as a young man, the CNN host followed-up: “I guess the question is, is the President—this is a blunt question—in your opinion, a serial liar?” Earlier in the May 20 interview, Blitzer addressed the issue of supposed “war crimes” related to the Iraq war. First, Blitzer played a video question from a viewer who asked McClellan: “Would you now consider testifying about your colleagues at a war crimes trial?” After listening to McClellan’s answer, Blitzer replied: “Knowing what you know now, do you believe war crimes, as this I-reporter suggests, were in fact committed?”

I wonder if liberals, as a general matter, are serially ignorant, or are serial deniers, or simply pathological liars, since they all seem to endorse this kind of abject media bias.
