Liberal Frenchman Stephane Dion’s leadership rating: half of George Bush’s

I took the results of the latest Nanos Research leadership poll (released last night), which shows an overwhelming lead for Conservative Prime Minister Harper with regard to his leadership; and compared it with the latest approval ratings from RealClearPolitics.com regarding President Bush—who smug liberals in Canada love to point out is so very out of favor with Americans.

The Liberal Frenchman’s numbers are roughly half of George Bush’s (Bush polls at 34% approval).  In fact they’re even lower than the Americans’ view of the Democrats (which at 22% are even lower than Bush’s) who control Congress.

Yes yes, Liberals, of course the comparison isn’t really valid—I do understand that, geniuses—but it’s fun to look at things the way you do every now and then, and draw ridiculous conclusions.  For example, I think the Liberals would do much, much better if Jack Layton was their leader.  I think Canadians would support their own country with regard to our Afghanistan mission if Dion and Layton and Duceppe would shut their pie holes and stop trying to equivocate and create this incessant arrière-pensée and skepticism and misgivings and doubt among Canadians who, thanks to your media divisions, are woefully uniformed and misinformed.  There’s no polling on that is there?

Nanos research:

Methodology
The Nanos Poll was conducted between February 2nd and February 4th, 2008 by means of a random telephone survey of 1,002 Canadians 18 years of age and older. The aggregate survey results are accurate ±3.1 %, 19 times out of 20. Readers should note that the data was weighted for age to match the latest Canadian census results. Results should be considered representative of the Canadian population. Results may not add up to 100% due to rounding.
