“Left-wing polemicists” can be smart, too. Take Christopher Hitchens.

Christopher Hitchens:  described on a BBC taped program as a “leftist journalist, writer, and polemicist”, and as “the most prominent writer in the liberal-left to break with his friends and argue that the [Iraq] war was just.”

Oh, and it would seem to me, an “imperialist pro-American neo-con war-monger”, to use the parlance favored by the liberal-left moonbats.

Well then.  With that, the liberals in Canada are bound to be so darn confused, politically, they won’t know what’s right, and what’s liberal. But there’s nothing wrong with the status quo.

Listen to Christopher Hitchens in his opening statement of a debate in New York City this past week against the extreme leftist, terrorist-lover, and British MP George Galloway.

I made an MP3 of just Hitchens’ remarks (click to listen—should work for everybody).  Galloway’s remarks hurt my ears too much—literally.  (He yelledscreemed out his entire childish insult-laden speech as if he were one of the uneducated young sons of the tyrannical anti-American dictators he so adores, to much giddy applause and a giggling, excited, juvenile-like response from the Michael Moore-esque dumb set that filled the audience.)

Also see Christopher Hitchens’ own review of his debate—very interesting reading!—and the Toronto Sun’s Peter Worthington’s review of Hitchens himself and the talking points Hitchens used in that debate.  Peter Worthington is convinced that Hitchens has seen the light and is (yet another) former left-winger, and that he is, in fact, a member of the enlightened right.
