How to be a dictator:

If it has to do with gay ‘marriage’ rights, then nobody else has any rights—not even the right to vote against it as a matter of conscience.  Period.  Now shut up and vote for gay ‘marriage’ as I’ve instructed you to do or you WILL be disciplined.

That’s Jack Layton’s thinking, as I see it.  Layton is leader of the fringe liberal-left-wing NDP in Canada.

The Liberal Prime Minister, Paul (“we lead the world”) Martin has also ordered all his Liberal cabinet members to vote in favor of gay ‘marriage’, no matter HOW they actually feel about it—or they too will be “disciplined”.  They have no right to vote against gay ‘marriage’, despite many of them being against gay ‘marriage’.  They only have a right to vote FOR gay ‘marriage’.

Also see below where a Liberal cabinet minister thinks the church should shut shut up about gay marriage because it’s against gay marriage—he thinks they have no right to speak out against it.  Just for it.

That’s how rights “flow from” the Canadian Charter of Rights, liberal-style.

NDP Leader Jack Layton has threatened disciplinary action against one of his Manitoba MPs who has said she’ll defy her party and vote against legalizing same-sex marriage. Churchill New Democrat Bev Desjarlais said yesterday she intends to take part in a Commons vote on the divisive issue and won’t be voting the party line.

Her opposition to changing the traditional definition of marriage to include gay and lesbian couples brought the toughest response yet from her leader Jack Layton, who has ordered all of his 19 member caucus to support the bill.

“The same-sex marriage legislation is a question of human rights and that’s why it’s a fundamental question of principle in our party and we won’t be able to accept members voting against the party position,” Layton said.

“Ms. Desjarlais knows that very well.”

Layton said he remains hopeful Desjarlais will either change her mind or not vote at all when the matter comes to a vote later this year.
