A couple of things:
1. I’m going to spend some time today working on the technical end of this web site, doing upgrades and such. Unfortunately it will be switched “off” and “on” occasionally during the day as I do this. The commenting section – Town Square forums – will be the main beneficiary of the upgrade and therefore the target of some of the work. So if you’re making a long slow comment, make a point of pasting it into a text editor before hitting “Submit”, in case the forum software “closes” right in the middle of writing your post and before actually posting it. There’s nothing worse than writing a masterpiece then losing it!
2. On another PTBC site-related note (and this is a
little
very gut-wrenchingly deflating/sad/discouraging/disheartening for me) I’m going to have to cancel a few of our columnists in order to bring more financial (and other) equilibrium to this web site. The overall pay-off for me and the pay-out by me in terms of cash and time and trouble and risk (and so on) has been massively out of whack for a long time now, and no matter what I do or how hard I try, it doesn’t seem to be getting better. I have no doubt liberals across Canada will be happy to hear about this!
So effective immediately, I will be canceling Dennis Prager, John Stossel, and Anthony Oluwatoyin’s columns from the columnist section.
This “equilibrium” that I’m aiming for won’t be established by this action alone, so more will have to be done—I just haven’t decided what yet. Sorry to all of you who have enjoyed having their columns here every week as I have, and I hope I can turn this around somehow, quickly.
