Former anchorman sees anti-Tory media bias
A former national TV anchorman who plans to run as a Conservative in the next federal election says the media is biased against the Tories.

Toronto — “In a couple of weeks I’m going to throw down a challenge to journalism schools to monitor the balance in the coverage — particularly in this city,” Peter Kent said Thursday outside a Conservative caucus meeting.
Mr. Kent, who covered the Vietnam war and anchored newscasts for Global Television, said he’s not biting the hand that used to feed him, only stating what many in the party see as a bias.
“It’s not a complaint, it’s a reality and it’s something we have to deal with…. We have to overcome, among other things, the apologists for the Liberal government in the Toronto media.”
He said the Liberals had capitalized on divisions within the right-wing movement in Canada to further their own agenda through skillful use of the media.
“There have been certainly decades of conditioning and the Liberals have worked a lot harder to demonize and to polarize and the Conservatives are partly responsible … through our own divisions.”
Mr. Kent did not say what journalism schools he would ask to monitor political coverage.
Not quite as lucid as Bernard Goldberg inasmuch as I didn’t really understand much of what he just said. But he’s on the right track.
The overt bias in Canadian media is obvious—- a large part of it is owned and run by the state, physically by liberals appointed by Liberals; and large parts of the broadcast media exist only through “sponsorships”. And liberalism isn’t confined to jounalism school, my friend! But anyway.
