Julia Gorin, a real live conservative comedian from the land of the free and home of the brave and fabulous Wal-Marts, sent me her latest The America Show instalment – this one called “Republican Girls Do Wal-Mart”.

I once wrote a column that was brutally bashed by scores of liberals, because it said favorable things about Wal-Mart in comparison to socialist-led Saskatchewan, which I’ve dubbed “a li’l bit of the Soviet Union right here in Canada!”.
In it, I wrote:
[…] To put the enormous complexities of managing a budget of Saskatchewan’s size in perspective, Wal-Mart has a budget of about $8 billion—that’s 30% bigger than Saskatchewan’s. Loath though I am to compare a socialist state with a capitalist free-market enterprise for fear of reprisals from self-righteous liberals and socialists who all think “America” and “enterprise” and “profit” are the real axis of evil, Wal-Mart makes an enormous profit selling quality goods as cheaply as possible—cheaper than their neighbors—to willing buyers while also providing health care and pension plans to its workers which number more than the entire province of Saskatchewan, and they also get far more visitors each year.
And their stores are warm all year ‘round. […]
