According to Toronto’s far-left mayor, the liberal-left’s own city of Toronto will not bother celebrating Canada Day this year. Too much bother, big labor union strikes, costs a lot, and basically, it’s Toronto. Canada Day’s not really “about” Toronto and advancing liberalism and stuff. Canada Day Shmanada Day. Canada Shmanada.
Here’s the list of Toronto-area cancelled activities, which of course also includes cancelled Canada/Shmanada Day fireworks:
* Amesbury Canada Day, Amesbury Park
* Ashbridge’s Bay Fireworks
* Canada Day Event, Earlscourt Park
* Somali-Canada Day, Earl Bales Park
* East York Toronto Canada Day, Stan Wadlow Park
* MPP Canada Day Event – Don Valley West MPP, Flemingdon Park
* Canada Day Celebrations, Thompson Memorial Park/ Miliken District Park
* Canada Day Celebration, St. James Park
* New Country Canada Day Jam, Woodbine Park
* Canada Day Festival, Kew Gardens
* Canada Day, Mel Lastman Square
You’re welcome, Jack! And all your friends!
Love, Canada.
P.S. Hey! Where’s Olivia?! But the Canadian taxpayer-funded Gay Pride Festival is bigger than ever!
I guess as mayor, or federal MP representing Toronto, you really have to think about what’s worth celebrating, which “pride” trumps which, photo-ops, agendas, votes, and particularly in the case of our Shmanadian taxpayers’ tax dollars, who it is you think Shmuckadian tax dollars are really all for. (Hi from Vancouver!)
The Toronto Star reports on the massive road closures in downtown Toronto all weekend long, starting tonight, to make way for the gay celebrations largely paid for by Canadian taxpayers (against the will of, I’m guessing, most of them).
Tonight we have the “Transsexual March”. This is the first ever! It’s an expansion of the festivities perhaps thanks to the extra $400,000 in federal taxpayer funding for the Toronto gay pride festival, which you’d expect in the midst of any massive recession. You’re welcome!
Later that day, the core of the city, Bloor and Yonge Sts., will be shut down for the “Dyke March”. Wish I were there!
The plain old normal homosexual set’s festival of legalized nudity, overt sex on the streets, and display of gay lewdness, the “Pride Parade” is, naturally, on Sunday. God Bless!
Don’t worry, Christmas displays are still all but banned in the town square.
Personally, I’m on Canada’s side.
(Hey — do we get Toronto’s huge dose of federal tax dollars for Shmanada Day refunded to us now? Just kidding! As if!)
