Although I give Toronto Star columnist Antonia Zerbisias a big high-five from my right paw for saying that we’re…… (get ready…… drum roll…..) RIGHT (as in correct!) on something (no, sorry, “not wrong” is her phrasing), it’s followed by a slap aside the numbskull from my left paw for saying something dumb, too.
In her blogish column entry this morning on the Toronto Star’s TheStar.ca, she zooms in on our humble web site, and her leftist faithful let loose using the usual inane (but ever so nuanced and intellectual!) tirades against anything not socialist and not fully endorsed by the state-run CBC (or their leftist brethren at the Toronto Star).
Babble Babble
The blog at the right-wing Proud to be Canadian takes exception to CBC Newsworld’s discussion of blogs on Wednesday, the one between Openflows Jesse Hirsh and anchor Nancy Wilson.Babble is no longer the most radically left-wing web site discussion forum in the nation. No.
According to the state-run CBC, it’s:
(a) a “blog”; and
(b) among the best “blogs” in Canada; and
(c) it represents “a real pulse” in terms of how people are thinking across our country.Got to admit: Proud to be Canadian is not wrong in this particular case. Strident, yes. But not wrong.
There’s video. Judge for yourself.
UPPITY DATE: Just out of curiosity, if Proud to be Canadian is so proud to be Canadian, then why are so many of its featured columnists American?
Among the comments submitted:

AZ: A possible answer to the question you pose…because, secretly, they want to be American so badly.
“Bill-Muskoka” writes:
WOWSERS! Now there is a ‘fair and balanced’ bunch of columists if ever there were some!
If the viewpoints they express were any further to the extreme neo-con right I would have to pan my monitor to read them. …
“Robert McClelland” writes:
Antonia, please stop giving these morons attention for being right about minor details …
…And there’s many more comments piling up.
