State-Run TV’s Champion of the Liberal-Left

Right now, on Canadian state-run media, Henry Champ, a reporter who lives up to his name as a champion of liberal-left obfuscation in news media (in my opinion—I can’t confirm that even by asking the Liberal Party appointees in the state-run CBC offices), is being interviewed about President George W. Bush’s morning news conference.

This liberal champ is the CBC’s “man in Washington”.  Champ seems to think he’s the “liberal critic of President Bush in Washington”.

He tries to sound as though he’s being even-handed, but, for example,  after the President won the election in November, Champ said that Bush was never as popular as Bill Clinton was, even though this reporter was “reporting” (oh …and making commentary too) on the President who just won the largest number of votes in American history, and by a much larger popularity than Bill Clinton ever got.  In reality, you see, President George W. Bush won over 50% of the popular vote.  Bill Clinton never got even close to that.  No matter—Clinton was, somehow, more “popular”.  Got it?  Now you’re CBCin’!

Champ also confirmed, during the inauguration, that unpopular President George Bush’s 10 (count ‘em, TEN!) gala balls during inauguration week was the most ever in history, everIn history.  Which is true if you don’t count Bill Clinton’s 12 (TWELVE) gala balls in his second inauguration week.

This was all duly confirmed by the state-run media’s other man in Washington, Neil Macdonald, who was properly positioned in front… no, not the gorgeous Potomac River, not the beautiful inaugural displays, the inaugural stage, the White House, the actual inaugural celebrations, or even the Democratic Party Headquarters, but the biggest anti-Bush demonstration he could find anywhere in Washington D.C.  Sure enough, Macdonald confirmed, it’s the most gala balls in history, and also, there sure is a lot of protest about Bush here.  Apparently the anti-Bush set are chanting bad things about Bush.  “Let’s have a look at some of the protest signs now!…”

Anyway Champ reluctantly reported that Bush was on-message this morning about the upcoming Iraq elections—despite the fact that yet another 30 soldiers were killed just this morning in a horrible helicopter crash…
