Salim Mansur takes on the Liberals’ mantra that we’re (and this is a Paul Martin quote) “a nation of minorities”—in his latest column.
OK now that we’ve said something disparaging about the liberal-left’s self-serving multicultural policy and mantra, this is about the time when liberals love to feign outrage and pretend that conservatives are “racists” and are “against multiculturalism”. Of course smart people know that the liberals are either stupid or ill-informed, probably the latter because the media and academia are so effective at ill-informing people about conservatives, or of course they’re lying, which we know liberals never do.
It’s in the Columnist section now.
Here’s a snippet:
This pleasing phrase—“a nation of minorities”—on examination is insulting.
[…] Multiculturalism as a Liberal doctrine has served the party well in electoral politics. But the unintended consequences have been to diminish the foundational values of the country—slowly stripping them of their meaning and place in the nation’s life.
In this context, describing Canada as “a nation of minorities” advances the process of fragmenting the country and diluting its core values. A “nation of minorities” cannot have any core value, since any value would be limited to a minority group and not necessarily shared by others.
