Report: Canada should open its mind on foreign investment. Score!

Or penalty!  … depending on which molly-coddled by the nanny-state maple syrup eatin’ hockey nut you’re talking to.

For example, after reading the article on the report which says Canada should allow more foreign investment, when liberalvision CTV.ca asks its readers in a poll if Canada should allow more foreign investment, they dutifully reply: no

“But we should insist that U.S. companies like General Motors be forced to open plants here and then be forced to keep its Canadian plants open and in fact we’ll bribe them to open more with our Canadian taxpayer cash!”:  (— a quintessential quote from a Canadian, especially one from Canada’s liberal-left.)

Speaking of quotes: the report indicates that foreigners daring to touch our famous Canadian culture (which I am predisposed to type in this manner: “Canadian Culture”), which is a thing that absolutely nobody in Canada can even remotely define even after decades of liberals spending countless hundreds of billions in taxpayer cash creating a culture for us (again because we’re incapable of doing ANYTHING without the nanny-state), is totally off side

And as if to prove how provincial we have become in our Canuckian thinking,  the report’s spokesman slapshots these bon mots to the news media (a large part of which is state-owned and state-run, and which broadcasts our hockey games)  to help us understand the report better:

“If you like, we prefer the game go to the other end of the rink.’‘

and

“We must skate harder, shoot harder and keep our elbows up in the corners, to use a recognizably Canadian metaphor.”

Eh.

CTV story.

State-owned, state-run CBC story.

That’s all you need.
