Apparently the shipment of Saddam’s yellowcake now “powers Canadian banks” and so on. Not labor union offices or porn shops or the liberals’ group sex parlors. Just the banks.
I did NOT know that.
It’s an article by Brian Murphy of the Associated Press printed in the far-left Toronto Star this morning, tendentiously headlined (by TorStar politicos?) “Saddam’s legacy to light up Bay St.”. It begins: “Saddam Hussein will soon be helping to keep the lights lit on Toronto’s Bay Street…”
Hi Joel,
I really enjoy reading your website. I thought you might find today’s Toronto Star article interesting. Weren’t the liberal chattering classes going on for last 5 years that Iraq had no potential to create weapons of mass destruction. Yet this article talks about all of the radioactive yellowcake Iraq has, that a Canadian company is buying to use in the Bruce nuclear power plant. I love how they don’t even know their own bias.

Not to mention they use in the title “to light up bay street”. As though Bruce nuclear power is only used to power the office towers of those “big evil” banks, and not our everyday homes. I don’t even think Bruce provides power to Toronto. I think Toronto gets most of it from Niagara falls, Darlington, and Pickering.
Sincerely,
Christopher Reid

COMPARE:
• An article at the Ottawa Citizen, which uses that same AP story, leaves out the “Saddam Hussein will soon be helping to keep the lights lit on Toronto’s Bay Street” part.
• …As does the Edmonton Sun, which uses the same source.
• …As does the Melbourne Herald Sun, which uses the same source.
• …As does even the CBC, which again uses the same source.
…raising the question: Did the Toronto Star edit the story to add that gratuitous anti-capitalist slam?
… and of course this one: Is Saddam’s yellowcake powering the Toronto Star?
