Must be an election coming soon, as the CBC goes deeper into anti-conservative mode.
I got this email this morning from a reader, which is with regard to the state-run CBC division of the Liberal Party running another one of their constant anti-conservative “documentaries” tonight —this time on Brian Mulroney. The “documentary” is purportedly based on the recent book by Peter C. Newman, which the liberal-left Canadian media recently had such fun blabbing about ad nauseum because it supposedly cast a bad light a non-liberal-left politician, much to their smug, giddy, joy and excitement.

The timing of the airing of the so-called ‘documentary’ is such an obvious electioneering ploy by the CBC it makes me sick. I have no objection with the CBC airing such a program, but not at such a critical point of time in Canadian politics. Especially critical considering the governing party has been found to be literally up to its armpits in the biggest political and criminal scandal in this country’s history. The CBC has had plenty of time to do a very in-depth ‘documentary’ on the Liberal Party of Canada in general and its involvement and responsibility for Adscam, including all of the outright criminality that goes with it. In all fairness (a word that you won’t find in any Liberal dictionary by the way), it would be equally inappropriate for the CBC to air such a program about the Liberals at this particular time even thought the obvious answer to the question “Which subject would Canadians in general be far more interested today, Mulroney’s secret tape ‘documentary’ or Chretien’s (and the Liberal Party) Adscam?”, would of course be the latter.
The CBC may provide the excuse for airing this ‘documentary’ on Mulroney at this particular time as being okay because Mulroney is no longer the PM. If that is their excuse, well neither is Chretien, but which subject would the Canadian public judge to be more pertinent right now?
It is past high time that the CBC was put in its place and its producers, whose salaries are paid by the Canadian tax payer not the Liberal Party, be given clear direction as to their responsibility to provide unbiased political based information, not malicious propaganda. The CBC is supposed to be Canada’s national broadcaster, not a disgustingly blatant supporter of the Liberal Party of Canada. One billion tax dollars a year from all Canadians, the majority of whom do not support the Liberal Party of Canada, to operate this broadcaster! Outrageous, simply outrageous.
