Monday: “Tax Cuts Don’t Work!” (TM liberal-left). Tues: “Cut Taxes to save jobs!”

Just this week I devoted a good swath of my editorial column to demonstrating how the conservative right has successfully managed to move Canada’s political spectrum’s center way over to the right, on fiscal matters, even if not yet on social matters.

When BC’s premier Gordon Campbell (himself a liberal who was convinced early on by the conservative idea that cutting taxes works) cut taxes across the board a few years ago which helped start a wave of prosperity across BC that we’re now starting to enjoy, the fringe left-wing lunatic BC NDP leader Carole James threw a hissy fit and led a chorus of liberal-left hissy-fittiness, decrying the tax cuts as voodoo Reaganomics and as oh I don’t know, horribly un-Cuban.

Hansen revealed Campbell’s plan as he slammed an NDP demand that the province give the movie industry tax breaks amounting to about $30 million.

Hansen called it an “amazing flip flop” by NDP leader Carole James, who he said has argued until now that tax cuts don’t work.

He said now James is suggesting tax cuts for a specific industry instead of for general job creation.

“This is an amazing flipflop by James,” Hanson said. “We have heard months of the NDP saying tax cuts don’t work.” […]
