Nobody to, uh, sponsorship them? After all their favors and programs and coughcough and benevolence throughout Canada?
This is an excerpt from a newsletter being sent out today by the Liberals to their faithful (hat tip: Mark-Alan Whittle). Sure sounds like an urgent appeal for more cashola to me:
[…] The opposition parties threw us into this early election. It normally takes four years to build an election readiness fund. We need your support now to make sure we form the next government. Please make a gift today to fund a winning campaign. Your gift is eligible for a generous tax credit. Example: a gift of $100 could entitle you to a 75% tax credit. We need to raise $1 million through this email effort before December 31st.
The kind of future you want for Canada is what is at stake in this campaign. This campaign needs your support: your time, your talent, your involvement, and yes, your financial support.
Send to a friend and help us raise more!
Use our handy Tax Credit Calculator to maximize your contribution and benefit.
If you have given already this year, please consider a special election gift at this critical time.
I guess they feel it wouldn’t be prudent, at this juncture, to tap into any other sources coughcough of cashola for their media ads as created by liberal-friendly media firms.
My understanding (here too!) is that the Conservative Party has raised about TWICE as much as the Liberal Party, and nearly all of it in donations of $200 or less. I’m told that the link to donate is here.
