Liberal Scott Brison accused of lying; ethics complaint to come

**UPDATE** 5:30 PM Nov 4 ‘05

Got a note from Gerry Nicholls of the National Citizens Coalition in which he said, in part:

Joel:

…As I said on Duffy, if you are going to smear somebody at least get your facts straight.

I have linked my blog to yours for the clip.

Gerry Nicholls of NCC on Duffy showOn CTV Newsnet’s Mike Duffy program today (moments ago!), anchor Mike Duffy rightly spent a considerable amount of time discussing Conservative leader Stephen Harper’s newly announced Accountability Act

Among those who matter and those who have common sense, the proposals are already getting rave reviews.  Of course we know it’s a solid plan and that it will have traction among the Canadian citizenry because the Liberals are absolutely outraged by the Conservative proposals.

But naturally, this is liberal-vision Canada and thus the Conservatives and their proposals must be put on the defensive right away!  (They must not be allowed to be seen taking the offensive!)  So Mr. Duffy referred back to some comments made this morning by the Liberal parliamentary mouthpiece-in-chief, Scott Brison, who was of course asked for his objective comments, and he made some pretty serious allegations, he misstated facts, and then of course he rounded it all out by blathering and lecturing incessantly as Liberals often do without using any degree of moderation or honesty.  Reporters didn’t question it.  Like I had to tell you.

However, thankfully, the well-spoken Gerry Nicholls, Vice President of the good National Citizens Coalition, was interviewed for his response to the Brison accusations, because they largely hinged on Mr. Harper’s previous stint as President of the NCC.
