Here’s a good way to end the week: Some positive words leaked out of a Canadian Conservative MP and dripped onto the pages of the press, and then people read it —-a story without the usual in-depth analysis from three far-left university professors or counter-punches from six assorted liberal-lefties. Media investigation sure to follow.
This is Helena Guergis, Simcoe-Grey MP, Conservative:
“I’ve been saying all along that I didn’t think Gomery would hold Paul Martin accountable.”
“As the report clearly shows, there was systemic corruption in the Liberal Party, and I think Canadians will conclude that only a Conservative government can be trusted to clean up the Liberals’ mess.”
“The Gomery Report confirms the culture of Liberal entitlement. The Liberals used the sponsorship program to kick back millions to themselves and their friends.”
“I can’t imagine the chief financial officer of any corporation, in a similar position, who would not resign. It just goes to show that the Liberals really believe they are entitled to their entitlements.”
“We have received $20 million in individual donations over the last year. There’s a real grassroots movement for the Conservative Party.”
