You know how when you’re reading a liberal media story—any story—about the war on terror on the Afghanistan front or the Iraq front, and no matter what the story is about (could be about new tires for Humvees or a story about yet another 48 schools being built—no sorry that last one has yet to be reported), they find the need to remind you of how many war dead have accumulated so far?
“In Iraq’s new failing democratic parliament today, a new law allowing women the same freedoms as men for the first time in Iraq’s history was passed by a wide margin, although clearly the war is a worthless quagmire and is not at all “progressive”. And, over 3700 troops have been needlessly killed in Iraq because Bush lied. Vote liberal. Have a nice day.”
Well today the liberals’ CBC state media division is reporting on just about their worst nightmare: Stats Canada is reporting that in 2005, Canada’s birth rate shot up—more babies than in the recent past. (Of course we’re still way below replacement rate which is why I say “Canada—Make Babies!”, but anyway). They report:
…In total, 342,176 babies were born in 2005, up 1.5 per cent from the previous year and more than double the 0.6 per cent increase in 2004…
But for some weird reason, they forgot to mention that over 100,000 ABORTIONS were performed in Canada in 2005. Maybe their typewriters ran out of ink.
That’s a fairly significant ratio don’t you think? The abortion number is nearly one-third of the live birth number. That’s bigger than the kill ratio in Iraq. But still not worth mentioning. Doesn’t suit their agenda.
But at least they didn’t include the number of Iraq or Afghanistan war dead in their story.
