I wrote earlier how there are, according to leaked Canadian spy agency information, Canadians fighting against the Americans and coalition partners in Iraq as “insurgents”. (“Insurgents” is a liberal word for “terrorists” and “evil”, which they don’t want to use because that’s what America and President Bush uses).
The obvious question was raised: what will their status be if they decide to return to Canada?
Now our esteemed Liberal minister of Public Security, Anne McLellan, has weighed-in on this topic. Finally some finality on the matter.
No dithering here! Wait! You’ll see! I’ll highlight some key words to help.
“Our opinion is that the people who go there and participate in various kinds of acts of violence are terrorists,” McLellan told reporters after question period. “And if they choose to try to return home we will determine to the fullest extent of the law possible how we will deal with them.”
We will determine it, damn it! And if you aren’t scared yet, I’ll say it again!
Now, normally, one who is in a leadership position on matters of national—no global—security, taking a “firm” and “unequivocal” leadership-like stand on something of this magnitude, says something like: “We will punish them to the fullest extent of the law”. Or “we will shoot them on sight because they’re clearly trying to kill us ultimately.”
Not: “And if they CHOOSE to try to return home… we will DETERMINE … to the fullest extent of the law possible how we will deal with them.”
Why? Because if you did talk like that, you’d sound like a blithering, dithering Martin Liberal.
So you’d avoid that.
But lest you think you can vote Conservative and solve all that nasty decision-making: No. You can’t. Apparently.
“It’s a difficult question to answer,” Conservative MP Myron Thompson, whose son is in the U.S. military and took part in the U.S. invasion of Iraq. “Should you hang them up in a tree by the neck? Should you execute them? I don’t even care to go there.”
I’d like to say the answer to his questions are: Yes. Yes. But of course that would make sense. And this is Liberal-left-led Canada.
But I’ll tell you what really makes me mad, here. It’s not that Liberal Anne McLellan is being a typical dithering Liberal and can’t decide how to punish the “insurgent” American-killers, it’s that she’s not abiding by Liberal Party principles. She’s not protecting the li’l liberal insurgents for merely acting “of their own free will” and “expressing themselves” and killing Americans as is their “human rights” since they are merely “protecting the Iraqi people” from the “Imperialist Americans” and as “victim of American aggression” as they are free to do as Canadian citizens from a Canada—country that thinks George Bush is a “war criminal” and a “moron” and this war is “illegal” and “Bush is the real terrorist”.
Where’s all that liberal-left blathering about Canada not needing to side with our sisters and brothers and sons and daughters and mothers and fathers in America? And those liberal “human rights” that seem to crop up everywhere, liberal-style? Suddenly reality hits home and she’s literally speechless? She couldn’t even bumble the words out so that they make sense to a liberal. Somehow all that liberal-left fundamentalism sounds unpalatable now to the Liberal minister—now that the full responsibility and glare of reality is thrust upon her.
Why go through this stupid song and dance? Come clean, McLellan. Come clean, liberals. You believe they should be allowed to kill Americans—it’s their right. We did not join this war—we were against it. We were proud of that, you claimed. We took Saddam Hussein’s side. The side of the insurgents. And we boasted about it.
The “insurgents” should be given the Order of Canada, if I’m not mistaken.
I didn’t have to look far for confirmation: The socialist NDP stalwart Ed Broadbent offered: They have “not violated any Canadian laws and have gone back to their own country in opposition to a war the UN itself is opposed to they won’t be violating any Canadian laws that I’m aware of.”
Eureka. Canadians liberal-left has found a way to legally KILL AMERICANS with no penalty.
Thus exemplifies our grand multicultural hyphenated-Canadian Godless liberal-left Canada.
I say kill the insurgents. Vote Conservative, damn it. Get real. Save the country.
