I think a National Post editorialist totally lied about Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly today

The overt hate-on for Fox News Channel by Canada’s ignorant and hideously unbalanced liberal-leftist media continues.

I think writer Basem Boshra should actually subscribe to Fox News Channel and maybe even watch it a couple of times.  I know it would be embarrassing as all get out, given that he’d see what a total fool he made of himself today in a National Post editorial.

Is it totally lost on him that Bill O’Reilly would have the courage and the sense of humor to do this show with a guy who stands for everything O’Reilly doesn’t?  I guess so!

Can O’Reilly handle the truthiness?

Basem Boshra, National Post

One’s a blowhard who worships at the altar of George W. Bush, thinks with his gut, not his head and never lets the facts get in the way of a good rant.

The other plays a blowhard who worships at the altar of George W. Bush

[WHAT??!  Hasn’t seen Colbert’s show either??!]

, thinks with his gut, not his head and never lets the facts get in the way of a good rant.

And tonight they collide for the first time, as Fox News’ Bill O’Reilly makes his debut appearance on The Colbert Report, while Stephen Colbert pays a maiden visit to The O’Reilly Factor.

Colbert has repeatedly said he modelled the deluded, bullying arch-conservative pundit

[that’s Bill O’Reilly—a registered Independent …but a damn conservative—the deluded idiot!]

he incarnates to such frightening perfection every night on O’Reilly, the most strident of Fox News’ unofficial WhiteHouse cheering section.

[What complete and utter liberal-leftist Michael Moore-esque automaton sputum]

.

But the usually humourless O’Reilly

[Bill O’Reilly is a very good-natured guy and a good laugh, in actual fact, and is one of the reasons he’s so popular, proving that the author knows absolutely NOTHING about the subject he’s writing about]

— or “Papa Bear,” as Colbert mock-affectionately refers to him on his show — has been surprisingly supportive of the Report, despite Colbert’s nightly evisceration of him. “I’m really looking forward to speaking to a man who owes his entire career to me!” O’Reilly quipped last week when the guest swap was announced.

[O’Reilly actually has multiple liberal and sundry leftist moonbat opponents on every night—that’s what he does.  That’s what his show is all about.  Period.  More proof the author knows nothing about his subject].

As for Colbert — who ranks only behind Borat’s Sacha Baron Cohen when it comes to not breaking character — he was his typically immodest self. “It’s an honour to speak face-to-face with a broadcasting legend — and I feel the same way about Mr. O’Reilly,” Colbert deadpanned.

Heavily hyped encounters like Colbert vs. O’Reilly rarely live up to the advanced billing — and the mutual admiration society the pair seem to have struck up in real life makes us wary — but we suspect this one will still be a gem.

The Colbert Report airs tonight at 11 p.m. on The Comedy Network and at 12:05 a.m. on CTV. The O’Reilly Factor airs on Fox News Channel at 8 p.m.

Inasmuch as Bill O’Reilly is one of the most thoughtful commentators on television today, routinely skewers the Bush administration particularly over Iraq, handily counterpunches with the best of the left every night several times per night, routinely appears on The View and other overtly liberal and opponents’ shows, and his show is far and away the most popular cable news show on planet Earth (beating all the competition in the U.S. combined), Mr. Boshra is clearly off his ever so arrogant, misinformed and mendacious rocker.  A moonbat.

Congratulations, Mr. Boshra.
