“Same-sex bill finally passes”.
“Finally”! Thank God! Oh… oops, actually, you know, thank the “Heathen Godless Liberal-Left or whatever your preferred deity!”
They were actually breathless in their exultation:
Canada is on its way to becoming the third country in the world to openly embrace homosexual marriage after the House of Commons gave its final approval last night to a bill that changes the definition to include same-sex couples.
The nation is bitterly—perhaps irreparably—divided now over this issue, with polls showing a fairly firm and steady lean toward the traditional definition of marriage—but this is what the Globe and Mail calls the “country opening embracing” gay marriage.
What it actually is, is the liberal-left media trying to CONVINCE Canadians that our country now “openly embraces” gay marriage. That’s why the old mainstream liberal media is called biased. That’s another reason why you can’t trust them.
Even the (further) left-wing Toronto Star was more realistic in its assessment:
A bill to legalize gay and lesbian marriage was passed by a bitterly divided House of Commons last night in a vote likely to reverberate for months, if not years, to come.
And CNews.ca carried a Canadian Press story headlined “Public deeply divided”. Yeah I guess that’s the same as “country openly embraces gay marriage”.
But the Globe and Mail appealed directly to more of the facts in the case, interviewing a gay MP instead of a common citizen, because they don’t see things the same way as us:
