Far-left liberal New York Times misleads their liberal readership about Harper?

EDITED:  Maybe not—I’m not absolutely sure.

As if to prove how anti-conservative and intolerant and bereft of any semblance of fair and balanced reporting they are, in their big article about Canada’s Conservative leader Stephen Harper, the liberal-loving New York Times today makes their very first line a hideous attempt at mischaracterization.

A Conservative Evolves, and Leads a Canadian Race
By CLIFFORD KRAUSS

HUNTSVILLE, Ontario, Jan. 14 – “God bless all of you, God bless Canada!” is the way Stephen Harper finishes every campaign stump speech as he appears to be heading toward a landslide victory to become prime minister…

What’s that again?  That’s how he finishes every campaign speech?

Unfortunately, he’s only said “God bless Canada” once, as far as I know, not that I ever thought there was ever anything wrong with that, EVER in our history.  And I’ve been watching his speeches rather closely.  Please correct me if I’m wrong.  Not that this should even remotely be on the radar screen, much less the first line in a story about Canada’s apparent Prime Minister-elect in the self-described American “newspaper of record”.

As I said at the time that he’d said that (because the liberals were so aghast at the phrase and got their politically-correct panties in such a knot over the episode), God bless him for saying it.

The writer then fixates on his imaginary contention that Harper repeatedly says “God bless Canada”.  The first several lines of the terribly written and typically anti-American and misleading article drags on and on about what they’d love liberal Americans to believe —an untruth as it turns out— and yet what’s really risible about it is that they would seem to be portraying that “God bless Canada” phrase as a negative, somehow.

In the liberal-left world, all the standards of morality are evil, and all the standards of orgasms and hedonism and family-dismantling and dismantling of national security are good.  It’s like Bizarro World.

Clearly the writer is appealing to their Godless, secular, politically-correct liberal-left readership, which is plummeting.

The New York Times has become a joke—a shill for the liberal-left, much like much of Canada’s old mainstream media.

One line caught my attention:

His [Harper’s] campaign refused to arrange an interview for this article.

No kidding.  You don’t say.  What with all the good fair and balanced reporting and all.  Shocker.

And of course this gives me the opportunity to once again quote the very opening of our Canadian Constitution.

CONSTITUTION ACT, 1982

PART I

CANADIAN CHARTER OF RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS

Whereas Canada is founded upon the principles that recognize the supremacy of God and the rule of law…

Fer crisakes.
