Not Surprising allies

Even while the Conservative Party has found new allies and “friendlies” this election, some alliances don’t surprise me in the least—and are in fact natural allies.

The liberal-left:  The Liberals and the you’ve got to be kidding party (the NDP—snicker).

The Liberals are now so desperate that according to one of the official bibles of the liberal-left, the Toronto Star, they’re asking the NDP to form a last-second “coalition” with the Liberal Party to be a big old “progressive” force to stop Canadians from getting the Conservative Party government that they clearly want according to even their own polls.

For those who are new to politics, “progressive” is code for “liberal”.  The word “liberal” is a word they’re not proud of any more, and they think you’ll be warmer to “progressive” because it sounds like “moving forward”.  Of course most of you didn’t realize that “moving forward” meant moving forward with legalized swinger and wife-swapping clubs, and polygamy, crime, a failing military, a reduced world stature, an increased official hatred of our friends the Americans, our kids smoking pot willy-nilly in the streets and back allies, total reliance on government for every aspect of our lives—replacing even the Canadian family with “government” as the foundational root of our nation, and changing our Canada from the once much prouder nation that it was and still can be.

Both the socialist you’ve got to be kidding party (the NDP—snicker), who refuse to call themselves what they are (socialists); and the Liberal Party —want to call themselves “progressives”.  They’re fighting over the term.  They’re both ashamed of their true and traditional identifying character.  They both want to hide their real agendas.  Irony abounds.

Liberals scramble to curb losses

Prime Minister Paul Martin is asking New Democrat voters to form a “coalition” at the ballot box next week to avert a Conservative government and save Canada’s social programs.

“There’s got to be a coalition of progressive voters,” Martin said in an interview with CBC TV yesterday.

[…] With the election now less than a week away and their fortunes in a slide, Liberals are in last-ditch territory, imploring voters to seriously consider the shape of a future Tory government. They are painting it as cold and axe-wielding, a reverse Robin Hood that would take from the poor to favour the rich. […]

Personally, I would simply suggest that Canadians stop listening to those people, and stand up for Canada.

UPDATE:  Another party comes to fore for possible relations with the “progressives

Sex party to sue post office

VANCOUVER—The Sex party is suing Canada Post for refusing to deliver the party’s political leaflets.

John Ince, head of the party — which has no candidates in the Jan. 23 election — said the Crown corporation won’t distribute what he calls tasteful, artistic and informative pamphlets to voters.

“There’s nothing smutty about it,” Ince said.

“It’s what you’d see in the newspaper.”

He said Canada Post refuses to handle any ad mail with a sexual content.

The Sex party was formed last year and ran three candidates in the provincial election.

It is suing Canada Post in federal court, alleging the post office is interfering with political expression and violating the Charter of Rights.
