Quotes from the dear leader of the Liberal Party regarding his green shift, um, to red, “plan”.
• “We Canadians don’t shy away from big challenges!!”
Except for the serious challenges like in Afghanistan, Iraq, etc., he means. (I manifestly disagree with him… he often confuses Liberals with Canadians). And except for challenges to liberal-left thinking from conservative bloggers and writers. And except for intellectually honest debates like on our North Korean-style and totally ideological healthcare system…
• “We ha-will fight fear with hope! We will fight lies with facts! And we will fight Republican-style attack ads with Canadian-style courage!” [and the crowd goes wild…]
First, see above, re Afghanistan and Iraq. But moreover, is this what the Liberal Dion means by “Republican-style attack ads”? Does he mean ads like the disgraceful, violent Liberal Party attack ad (and outright lie) that attacked all Canadians by aiming a gun—a handgun—straight at you and your children, and then fired the gun—fired the gun!—in order to counter the Conservatives’ plan to eliminate the stupid long (long!) gun registry? That most fear-invoking, deceitful, and most violent, egregious attack ad in the history of Canadian politics? That kind of ad? (Answer: no! The CONSERVATIVE ads!).
(…And then suddenly the big news conference ended. Some groovy bass-heavy Euro-beat music was cued and played full blast in the background as Dion left the stage, perhaps to pump fists with other Liberals, Obama style…)
Later, in his real news conference (the above wasn’t his real news conference, it was his well-rehearsed Obama wannabe moment), he said…
• “Mr. Harper at the last election came with a commitment to never tax the income trusts !!#!!1`11”
That remark “came” after a reporter asked if (referring to the fact that he campaigned for the Liberal Party leadership and in the last election on the promise that he’d never allow a carbon tax), how he can now be trusted; then after a similar question pressing him on the issue, Dion glibly replies:
• “I change my mind! My thinking evolved! And I’m showing it! … and we came to the concluded that the best way to start is to come with a green plan!”
So it’s OK to “come with” a totally moronic flip flop then! Phew! (But Harper didn’t “evolve”, he “lied”. Now you’re thinkin’ like a liberal!)
