Democrats play solitaire, watch baseball on laptops during budget debate

We know that here in Canada the you’ve got to be kidding party’s Jack Layton and his minions don’t bother to read vital budgets and bills before vehemently opposing them in their effort to bring down the Conservative government.  And as we know, that kind of liberal-left arrogance and laziness and dereliction of duty and partisan politics and pure ideological stupidity extends to the U.S. as well.  It’s now a well-established fact that virtually no Democrats (or any liberals) in the U.S. read the 1,300-page Democratic Party’s Congressional “health care” (—wink!) bill, and yet they’re all 100% for it — not even knowing what’s in it.  Same with the “stimulus” (—wink!) bill and the crazy TARP bank bailout bill before that.

Here’s some Democrats in Connecticut playing solitaire and watching baseball games on their laptops while debate from minority Republicans rages about the state budget’s tax hikes “on the wealthy”, and the state borrowing another BILLION dollars to “balance” the budget.  After finishing their solitaire games and watching baseball, they voted in favor of their budget.

On the left is Representative Barbara Lambert, Democrat.  Lambert is playing solitaire, while Representative Jack F. Hennessy, Democrat, is also playing solitaire. They both voted in favor of the tax and spend Democratic budget.  The person watching baseball is, according to seating charts, likely to be Democrat Representative Russ Morin.  It’s their budget.

Then there is the story from yesterday of the pictures snapped by a bicycle-rider, using his cell phone (see pictures here), of a guy whose job is to guard the massive George Washington Bridge.  The George Washington Bridge spans the Hudson River between New York City and New Jersey, not that there’s anything special about New York City, as September 11 approaches.  It’s also the bridge that heroic pilot Chesley Sullenberger just missed when he landed his jetliner safely on the Hudson, in January.

The bridge guard is seen sleeping in the blogger’s repeated snapshots.

There was another guard on duty at the other end of the bridge though, so, you know, phew.  Unfortunately he was sleeping too.  Sound asleep.  Both of ‘em.

The bridge is managed by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.  Both states are governed by liberal Democrats by the way. One governor, the governor of New York, David Patterson, Democrat, is rather new on the job, the previous governor having been Eliot Spitzer, Democrat, who had to quit after getting caught being involved in a high-priced prostitution ring, and for hiring prostitutes, possibly using funds which, well, weren’t his to spend, at least not on prostitutes.  The governor of New Jersey, Jon Corzine, Democrat, used to work for Goldman Sachs as its chairman and CEO.  You’ve heard of Goldman Sachs, right?  (See TARP).  Corzine “earned” $400 million from Goldman Sachs, one year. But it’s OK because he’s not with them now, he’s the governor now.

The George Washington Bridge employees were both fired so it’s all OK.

And liberals want government to look after our children in national government-controlled and funded “day care” (and “early learning”  —wink!) centers, and manage our “health care”, and control our incomes and taxes and our budgets, and our education, and lifestyles, and most everything else.  Nothing could possibly go wrong with this plan.

Vote liberal.  Wink.
