CTV adopts far-left’s own talking points in story, headline, and today’s poll

image The far-left’s totally intellectually dishonest, scare-talk terminology of the day, as dutifully adopted and used by suckup agenda-driving CTV:  “Big Box Day Care”.  Watch as it is adopted by all the liberal-left media in this country, now that it has been advanced by a far-leftist politician, Olivia Chow (“life partner” of the you’ve got to be kidding party’s Jack (“ass”) Layton).

As a handy reminder to my readers, Chow sounds very much like a communist to me. Thank you.

Their scare term is a term used by socialists and communists who advocate a totally socialist (that is, government-owned, government-run, government-regulated) universal, nanny-state day care (and “early learning” —wink!) service for our children, in lieu of Canadians having freedom, and a choice, and bringing up their own families as they see fit, using their own cash (which they’re allowed to keep in the first place) and whatever facilities they decide is right for their kids.  Liberals and the left are against that option.  The state knows better how to raise your kids.  You’re too stupid.

We already know that liberals (big and small L) and leftists generally don’t trust Canadian families to raise their own children.  And they want the state to replace the family.  A top Liberal Party strategist, Scott Reid, let the cat out of the bag a couple years ago when he let slip that Liberals think Canadian parents will simply spend their money on “beer and popcorn” if they’re allowed to keep their own money, and allowed to spend their own money on raising their own kids, and therefore to their way of thinking, the big nanny-state government needs to tax the money away from parents and spend it for them on state-owned, state-run, state-regulated child care (and “early learning” —wink!) centers to plug your children into every day, so you plebeians can go to work (and thus pay more juicy taxes, which they can then spend for you because you’re too stupid…).

The CTV even allowed in their own story on this that the term is seen by many as totally farcical and at best, tendentious:

…Kathy Graham, of the Association of Daycare Operators of Ontario, said the debate over large-scale day-care operations is not black and white.

Even the term “big-box day care,” she told Canada AM, has been used as a scare tactic.

“I think that’s been a phrase that has been coined to scare families, to scare Canadians, when in fact 123 Busy Beavers, if we’re going to dwell on them, are actually purchasing private entrepreneur centres that are, in general, 60-space day cares, 64-space day cares, 24-space day cares,” she said.

“If we want to talk about Wal-Mart, this is by no means a comparison.” …

In another instance, CTV even said in their story that “…debate over so-called big-box day care heats up…” (my emphasis), in a twist on the typical state-run CBC terminology used when mentioning the war on terror, in which they hideously preface it with “so-called”.

But that didn’t stop the fair and balanced CTV from using the far-leftists’ very own tendentious term, “Big Box”, in their own totally biased, totally intellectually dishonest, total BS headline to their story, which was obediently crafted as “Day-care bill comes amid fears of big-box takeover”:

…and then furthering their far-left agenda by then asking a question about it in a similarly-worded, totally biased, totally intellectually dishonest, total BS online poll today, which is shown below.

It’s as if they handed the keys to CTV over to the extreme left wing of the country for the day.  They used the far-left’s own words to describe and discuss and headline the news.  This isn’t reporting—this is driving an agenda.  You cannot trust a news media that is driving an agenda.  This is “journalism” of the very worst sort.  But I don’t think they care.  I’m quite sure they’ll do exactly the same thing later today, and tomorrow.  It’s a drip by drip thing, this Fabian socialism; this “progressive” agenda.

image At left:  CTV.ca’s poll uses the very terminology—“Big Box”—that the far-left you’ve got to be kidding party coined in their intellectually dishonest blather.  This makes the CTV intellectually dishonest as well.

Not only does their terminology ape the far-left’s talking points, but the question’s options shout “PUSH POLL”.  The frame of reference is itself dishonest in its very lack of right answers.  For example, why would “support[ing] local companies”  necessarily preclude people from also supporting large day care companies from setting up here?  Liberals and the left are against choice, but only when it comes to certain things.  They still want to offer the “choice” of taxpayer-paid abortions to any woman for any reason at any time in any pregnancy (only liberals could imagine labeling limitless state-funded abortion as “choice”).

And why not ask a question about the fascist/communist notion of big governments controlling, by fascist/communist laws, the rights of people who own business from selling their property to any damn person or company they want (so long as national security isn’t at stake)?  Are we going to be told now, in this country, who we are and aren’t allowed to sell our businesses or shares to—or our homes, or any of our property?  Good luck with that.

This is not, sadly for the liberals and the left, North Korea, Iran, Cuba, China, the old Soviet Union, or Venezuela.  If they want a fascist or communist country, the you’ve got to be kidding party, especially the “life partners” Chow and Layton —and the CTV too— should just come out and admit it.
