‘THE BIG BOO’ CROWD HISSES KANYE WEST
Fri Sep 09 2005 10:30:28 ETThe chart topping hip hop rapper star who used a network hurricane fundraiser to charge “George Bush doesn’t care about black people” was loudly and lustily booed during last night’s NFL kickoff show.
The appearance of Kanye West, who was beamed into the Boston stadium via remote from Los Angeles, received a strongly negative response from the crowd.
“The boos were thunderous and lasted for much of his number,” reports the BOSTON GLOBE.
The Globe’s story said precisely:
Yet it was disconcerting to hear his name booed loudly by Patriots fans who evidently didn’t appreciate his nationally televised comment the other night on a Hurricane Katrina benefit that President Bush ‘‘doesn’t care about black people.” The boos were thunderous and lasted for much of his number.
In another story, First Lady Laura Bush described as “disgusting” comments by rapper Kanye West and Democratic chairman Howard Dean blaming her husband for the disproportionate numbers of black hurricane victims.
“I think all of those remarks are disgusting, to be perfectly frank, because of course President Bush cares about everyone in our country,” the first lady said Thursday in an interview with American Urban Radio Networks.
“And I know that. I mean, I’m the person who lives with him,” she said. “I know what he’s like and I know what he thinks and I know how he cares about people.”
No no no! Rappers know better! And Sean Penn! He’s an actor, you know!
I wonder how many genius Hollywood and show-biz liberals will come out swinging tonight on the big fund-raising telecast (CTV, Global, CITY-TV here in Canada). There’s bound to be some!
Don’t forget to visit our Katrina Relief page and make a donation. I actually got a really nice phone call last night from World Vision, simply thanking me for my donation. So I donated more today just for that!
