Yahoo.ca poll voters vote correctly:
Spend $1B on bilingualism: report | Language tensions
Hey! That ain’t liberal!
The correct answer is of course: no / non. Actually, just no.
But holy miss the point, Batman.
How about asking: Should Canadians get BACK all the now countless tens or even hundreds of billions in taxpayer cash that has been spent—by liberals—on their ideological, forced bilingualism mantra, even while The Nation of Quebec all but bans English?
The correct answer to my poll question would naturally be: yes!, but of course it’s impossible to get that cash back now. Qu’une situation stupide! Merci Liberals!
Speaking French in The Nation of Quebec—or anywhere else—is certainly Jim Dandy, of course, if it works for you. It’s a question of taxpayer cash and state regulations and rules and laws being used to foist it on people everywhere else in Canada, as if it were the state-owned, state-run CBC or something.
(Countdown to liberals lighting their hair on fire and going ballistic over my pro-Canada and oh-so-sensible and therefore utterly non-liberal opinion: quatre… three… deux… )
…Which reminds me of this fabulous story from last week out of the great U.S.A.:
Joe Vento, the owner of Geno’s Steaks … posted two small signs in October 2005 at his shop in a diverse South Philadelphia neighborhood, telling customers, “This is AMERICA: WHEN ORDERING PLEASE ‘SPEAK ENGLISH.’ ”
I love that guy.
