Hillary Clinton at it again… liberal codespeak for a total lie: “I misspoke”

…“I remember landing under sniper fire. There was supposed to be some kind of a greeting ceremony at the airport, but instead we just ran with our heads down to get into the vehicles to get to our base.”…

—Hillary Clinton last week, constructing a lie…

Bunkum.

Hillary Clinton got up on a stage last week and constructed, quite carefully, a lie.  An outright lie.  It was designed to bolster her claim—a totally phony one, which this sort of thing proves quite concisely—that she has foreign affairs expertise and executive experience and that she’s “ready from day one”.  She doesn’t, and she isn’t.

She said, quite deliberately, that during a trip to Bosnia (the trip was back in 1996), she and the plane she flew in came under attack—bullets flying and danger all around her.  She and her plane-mates, who included the comedian “Sinbad”, were warned that they may not be able to land—but they’ll land anyway because by golly, they’re brave.  They were warned that if they did land, they’d have to dodge sniper fire from all around them.  Keep your head down!, she said they were told, to supposedly avoid the impending bullets and bombs.

Sinbad, upon hearing this version of the story, balked.  He said he remembers nothing of the sort. It was a friendly, happy affair, replete with smiling children and their moms and grandmas and dignitaries and others lining the airport ramp, and it was a leisurely stroll from the plane to waiting fans, whom he and Hillary and all the others on board casually greeted, smiling, shaking hands, chatting.  In fact video footage pulled out of various media archives proves it.  Hillary would appear to be in more danger if she was greeting Fox News Channel reporters.

This is what liberals call “I misspoke”.

…Saying she made a rare error, Hillary Clinton repeated Tuesday that she “misspoke” when she suggested she landed under sniper fire during a goodwill trip to Bosnia in March 1996.

Speaking to KDKA radio in Pittsburgh, the Democratic presidential candidate said it’s been a long campaign and this is the first time she has said the wrong thing.

“I have written about this and described in many different settings and I did misspeak the other day,” Clinton said during a live 10-minute interview. “This has been a very long campaign. … Last week for the first time in 12 years or so, I misspoke.”…

“Misspoke”? This is what you and I call “getting caught in an outright lie”.

Of course it depends on what your definition of the word “is”, is.
