With regard to the obvious LEAK to the Globe and Mail and to CTV (both owned by liberal-friendly Bell Globemedia) of Gomery information that I blogged about yesterday first thing in the morning (to few people’s apparent care or concern), Liberal Sheila Copps wrote today in her column (headlined “
Martin knew nothing? C’mon!
”) that…
[…] As predicted, the leak to a national newspaper set the stage: “GOMERY PUTS BLAME ON CHRETIEN,” screamed the headlines in a type size usually reserved for a declaration of war or a world plague. The subtext was even more explicit: “Report to red flag Guite, Gagliano, Corriveau and Pelletier, but not Paul Martin.” (The PM was the only one who warranted the use of his first name in the headline).
The leak followed closely on the heels of a prime ministerial declaration on the weekend that there would be no leaks and a requirement that anyone who received an advance copy of Justice John Gomery’s report sign a non-disclosure statement. Either the leak came from Martin’s office or from Gomery.
Either way, the intent was clear: To convince the public that the team responsible for the mess has all left Ottawa and the new Liberals will clean up. […]
This internal Liberal Party bashing follows right on the heels of another major Liberal Party player, Warren Kinsella and his remarks I blogged about yesterday as well, right here.
And I’ll write again what I wrote yesterday:
I’ll sit right here and wait for all the massive media front-page stories foretelling the implosion, the hellacious collapse from within, the utter destruction of, and in summary the demise of the Liberal Party of Canada, as they do every two weeks or so with the Conservative Party, due to disagreement within the ranks.
I’m sure it will happen any time now. I’m just so sure.
