What’s this?
Hollywood liberal Pamela Anderson’s favorite pet is PETA, the so-called “People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals”. It turns out they kill tons of animals every year. On purpose! Why? It’s cheaper!
And word has it that unfortunately for PETA, the animals are in fact of the cute and cuddly variety—just like baby seals—which I mention only because I know it’s all about the cute and cuddly when it comes time to raise cash.
Yes the slaughter is in fact of puppies and kittens and other people’s pets in their possession. Cute!
Or so says a web site devoted to exposing PETA for the farce that they are, called PETA Kills Animals.
An excellent site, they not only provide bonafide stats provided by PETA to state authorities, they include letters of protest from PETA itself trying to justify their actions. Here’s one of the charts and blurb they provide:
Did You Know?
From July 1998 through the end of 2003, PETA killed over 10,000 dogs, cats, and other “companion animals”—at its Norfolk, Virginia headquarters. That’s more than five defenseless animals every day. Not counting the dogs and cats PETA spayed and neutered, the group put to death over 85 percent of the animals it took in during 2003 alone. And its angel-of-death pattern shows no sign of changing.
Another page provides PETA’s response to the site:
The Puppy Killers Speak Up
We’ll say this much for PETA’s leaders: they’ve got an answer for everything. If you write to PETA and ask them about our “PETA Kills Animals” website, they’ll send back a form letter including some of these lame excuses.
