(A re-run because I originally posted this late last night…)
I’m happy to let you know that our team of columnists in our Columnist section has expanded again, this time with the best-selling author William Gairdner, Ph.D., who told me after checking us out carefully, that we push all the right buttons. The feeling was mutual, so here we are.
William Gairdner is a former Professor of English Literature at York University, successful businessman, and Olympic athlete. He is the author of eight books, including The Trouble With Canada (1990), The War Against The Family (1993), and Constitutional Crack-up (1994) and was the managing editor of a landmark historical book, Canada’s Founding Debates (1999). His most recent work is The Trouble with Democracy (2001).
Dr. Gairdner is a former chairman of the National Citizens Coalition, and is also the founder and first president of Civitas, which is an organization “to promote and deepen understanding through the exchange of a wide range of political, economic, social, religious, cultural and philosophical ideas concerning the principles and traditions of a free and ordered society.”
I’ve already posted his latest, Opus Dei & “No Pain, No Gain”, which I’d referred to a day or two ago, and more from his archives will be added over the course of the slower summer season.
