Thanks to Paul for sending me this and making Friday a happy Friday, as I am wont to do.
Vernon, British Columbia, is celebrating Christmas with—get this—a “Festival of Christmas Tradition”! Yes, it includes something called “live nativity plays”! Remember when those things didn’t get you thrown in jail if they were seen in the public square by politically-correct secular-progressive liberals? They also offer “carriage rides, marshmallow roasts…”—oh the horrors! What would the politically correct in Toronto say to this?!
Holy….. well just holy! It’s Christmas in Vernon!
Unfortunately the big event is today so it’s too late for us to go there, which we might well have, but judging by this, I bet it’s a great Christmas place to be and shop and vacation anyway. So I’m adding Vernon to our Christmas List of Shame and Fame’s FAME list—it’s the first time in the years we’ve been doing this that a city has been added to our list.
Vernon was already a great, beautiful little town located in BC’s famed Okanagan area and features fabulous summers with vineyards and lakes and recreation for the whole family, and in the winter, it’s a world-renowned ski heaven. And they’re not ashamed to be Canadian!
Go Vernon! Go to Vernon!
