I still wear red on Fridays, every Friday without fail. I have a special place in my heart for all those who have joined our military, prepared to lay their lives on the line to defend freedom and our interests abroad.
Thousands of Canadians have died to allow us the freedom we still enjoy today. They died fighting communist and socialist dictators and tyrants, and more recently, freedom-hating Islamofascist extremists. Thank God for all those who serve today to maintain our freedom and security against the enemies of Canada and the Canadian way of life.
May God bless the Veterans of all our wars: Korea, Bosnia, the World Wars, the thousands of good Canadians who fought in Vietnam, our peacekeeping missions, and of course those who fought in Afghanistan.
And of course I always remember all those who are currently serving and who have served in our military in any capacity. You are special people who deserve our highest respect.
