I was wondering why I had such a hard time finding ANY news coverage of this annual poll, this year even though Gallup has done this almost every year since 1948.
THE REASONS:
1. True blue conservative Sarah Palin nearly tied with liberal Hillary Clinton as the most admired woman.
Hey! Sarah Palin’s so stupid! Isn’t Hillary Clinton super smart ‘n stuff? All the liberal “journalists” and commentators in the liberal media constantly mock Palin as “a total idiot”, almost always accompanied by words like “a joke”, and “angry”, and “a teabagger”, and “Christian”, and “dangerous”, and of course “really, really stupid” —as mandated by the official liberal-left news media guidebook. So that’s odd!
2. Conservative media rocket Glenn Beck is number four right behind… George W. Bush?
Hhhuhhh? And W’s number three… just behind Nelson Mandela? But the liberal “journalists” and commentators in the liberal media constantly mock Glenn Beck as “an idiot”, always accompanied by words like “total idiot” and “Fox News Channel idiot” and “he cried on TV, what an idiot!” —exactly like the editors over there at the totally crackerjack National Post, who are so on top of the pop-culture PC “progressive” zeitgeist! Or as the L.A. Times put it, “despite—or perhaps because of—his 1950s haircut.” No no, I’m completely serious. That’s what they wrote. My God those people are observant about that whole “admiration” thing and the intellectual reasons contained therein.
3. And Christian beacons Pope Benedict XVI in fifth and the evangelist Billy Graham, who has been on the top-10 list every year the survey has been taken since 1955, in sixth.
What happened to Michael Moore? And Jon Stewart? And our own Jack Ignatieff or whatever?
How could this be? This ain’t liberal! Why this is blasphemy to the church of liberalism! The folks are idiots! They aren’t following instructions! This is why we need the national government daycare (and “early learning”! —wink!)
WHAT TO TAKE HOME FROM THIS:
The least “admired” thing of all, apparently: Liberals and their propaganda as a general matter. It suggests a total failure of the liberal institutions of media, academia, and Hollywood. And this is a good thing.
Ah. Good times in the world of non-liberal-leftist-media-advocacy-and-how-to-think reality.
Oh what do you know. Here’s a couple of good reads by two authors who wrote a couple of the biggest sellers of the year, even though you no doubt had no idea about that fact either:
UPDATE:
USA Today once again picks up a link to our story, which as readers know I always try to mention every time I notice it because it’s only the likes of USA Today and the New York Times which regularly pick up links to PTBC blog entries or columns, while nobody in the Canadian media does. I think it’s because the liberal media in Canada does not list PTBC as one of their most admired sources of information and opinion.
