As was the case yesterday (where instead of featuring their daily, huge photo and story about their Hillary The Magnificent and/or The Great Obama they featured the Magnificent Mini Hillary, Chelsey), today brings another twist in the daily Hillarack.
The liberal Democrat-luvin’ National Post chose to put The Great Obama in their page A-2 “NEWS” section banner for their daily dose of liberal yumminess:
(“Race for the White House”… do you think this was a double entrendre?!)
And instead of putting the Liberal Frenchman Stephane (“the “Green Guru”) Dion in their “CANADA” section banner as they so often do (right beside the DA, which I enjoy), they stuck him in the “WORLD” section banner (luckily, just beside the D, which I appreciate).
(…because what really matters about that Kosovo ordeal and how it pertains to Canada…. is what the opposition Liberal leader—or any liberal— thinks!)
In fairness I should note that today’s “CANADA” banner was reserved for a headshot of the Conservative Party’s Jason Kenney (or, as they called him, a “Tory”), who, through no fault of his own, is quasi-quoted out of context and with bits missing and thus in such a way as to make what he said almost incomprehensible. In their pull-quote they write: “The Liberals have a sense of entitlement for the support of new Canadians. For us, the sky’s the limit —Tory Jason Kenney.”
What he actually said was this:
“Every day, I hear the refrain from new Canadians that the Liberals for too long have taken us for granted …The Liberals have a sense of entitlement for the support of new Canadians. The Liberal message is that we’ll take your votes and volunteer hours, but don’t be setting your expectations too high. For us, the sky’s the limit.”
And much as they described Dion as “Liberal Leader” rather than as a “Grit Stephane Dion” (or better yet, “Grit who holds French citizenship”), I think you’ll find Kenney is a “Conservative MP” and “Secretary of State”.
For what it’s worth, I don’t buy Kenney’s multi-cult appeasing sentiment. I would lead my party to campaign for the votes of “Canadians”. Not “new Canadians” or “ethnic Canadians” or hyphenated Canadians. Because I thought we were all Canadians, entitled to the same things, with the same interests—you know, “Canadian” interests. Since I’m on Canada’s side, my li’l motto would be: “You’re either with us, or you’re not.” And you can put that in your “CANADA” banner any day, NP.
But I know, that ain’t liberal.
