Well that’s funny. The Conservatives want to cut taxes too—always have. Did you know that? They said so in the last election campaign over and over, and the liberal-left in this country and its media renounced it. Mocked it.
The Liberals claimed that would never work, in the last election campaign. They even got one of their liberal-friendly media firms to make a slick TV ad about it. the Liberal ad says: “Economists call it a recipe for disaster”. I guess tastes change.
I made sure to keep it in case I needed it.

Their current voter-suck-up doesn’t seem to square with what they said back then to sucker voters. That’s odd. And yet they’re honest at the same time?
They’ve engaged in massive—historic —increases in spending of our tax dollars to buy our votes, and now they say they’d like to cut our taxes too. And that would work? That’s odd. And the media has now told us about this tax reduction plan approximately 38 times in the past three days. You’d think that would be enough. I wonder what the Conservatives have in mind? Oh well! They’re not liberals!
PM confirms tax cuts on Ottawa’s agenda, analysts say they’re affordable
OTTAWA (CP) – Prime Minister Paul Martin says federal tax cuts are definitely on the minority Liberal government’s agenda and independent forecasters say they’re affordable.
Martin says tax cuts are part of any plan to boost productivity and living standards. And forecasts conducted for the Commons finance committee all say the federal government will be reaping multibillion-dollar surpluses in the next few years.
The government is said to be looking at tax cuts as part of a plan to encourage more economic growth and better incomes for Canadians.
With surplus forecasts ranging from $10 billion to almost $12.5 billion, forecasters say taxes could be lowered without risking a deficit.
And the media doesn’t question this? That’s odd. No questions. Just a short little story. How odd. No university professors, no eminent economists? No quote from the head of the Canadian Centre for Policy Alternatives?
And analysts say it’s doable, huh? Odd. During the election of 2004 the media couldn’t find such a pat answer. They constantly had to re-ask Mr. Harper if this was doable. They must have re-asked that question eight thousand times. I got the distinct impression they didn’t believe him. They certainly convinced Canadians not to believe him! Oh and they asked if he was against abortion, too. And what his hidden agenda was. And they said with alarming regularity that it was quite possible that the Conservatives were, and I quote: “scary”.
