Bear in mind they’re all winners—all of the stupid people should feel equally stupid.
But nominated for the prestigious and not-at-all-coveted ProudToBeCanadian.ca Award trinket in the category of The Stupidness Quote Of The Week….. (hat tip to Hedplug)……:
Michael Moore. No contest. Here’s the teaser:
Toronto — Famed
[“Famed”?! Not “Infamous”?… proving this is a Globe and Mail article —Joel]
American documentarian Michael Moore demanded Friday that the CBC drop plans to air his Academy Award-winning film, Bowling for Columbine, this weekend because of the month-long lockout at the public broadcaster.
“I do not want my film being broadcast on the network unless it is willing to let its own workers back in to work and promises to bargain with them in good faith,” Mr. Moore said in a statement Friday.
See? It won an Academy Award! Ooooh—it MUST be good!
Here’s the award-winning stupidness:
“CBC has locked out its union workers, an action that is abhorrent to all who believe in the rights of people to collectively bargain. Why the great and honourable CBC is behaving like an American corporation is beyond me.”
…making me wonder if we should also create a “Hideously Funny” category for an award. Great and honorable, he said. Great. Honorable. Oh my.
The day the state-run extreme left-wing and often downright Marxist CBC starts behaving “like an American corporation”, will be the day. I will personally present a “great and honorable” award for that.
