Must be that ever popular drive to be more “m-o-d-e-r-a-t-e”!
OTTAWA (CP) – A new poll suggests Conservative momentum remained stalled even as Stephen Harper was committing his party to the single-minded pursuit of an immediate federal vote.
The Decima Research survey released Tuesday – just hours after the Conservatives unanimously endorsed a spring or summer election push – indicated the Liberals had the support of 32 per cent of respondents, compared with 29 per cent for the Tories.
That whole “moving to the center” thing was an excellent idea!
But when people—if people—ever sober up in this country, they should consider that one of the huge political lessons learned down south was that even those who didn’t like Republicans admired George Bush for being a man of values and principles and a man who stuck to his guns because he knew what was right. He convinced others he was right. He boldly told them what was right. He made people believe what was right. Even liberals voted for him.
That would never happen here. Even conservatives won’t vote for Stephen Harper and the Conservative Party now. And nobody is learning anything.
That’s how we got where we are today.
Vote liberal. (You don’t have a choice, really, anyway!)
