Once again, the state-owned CBC, which never refers to itself as state-owned, as I always do, posted a news article on its state-owned web site yesterday in which they refer to communist Cuba’s “state owned” airline, and alluded to the fact that their reports emanated from communist Cuba’s “state-owned” media.
The state-owned CBC isn’t alone in never referring to itself as “the state-owned media” as I always do. When other Canadian or American media refer to the state-owned CBC, they also leave out the words “state-owned.” It’s strange because the CBC is state-owned in exactly, precisely the same way that the Cuban airline, and the Cuban media source they’re referring to, is state-owned.
(state-owned)
A Cuban airliner flying from the eastern city of Santiago de Cuba to the capital crashed Thursday night with 68 people aboard, including 28 foreigners, state media reported.
Interestingly, when I first copied and pasted the article last night before bed, the opening sentence ended with the words ”… including 28 foreigners, state media reported,” just as I posted them above. I see now where the wording was changed (“Last Updated: Friday, November 5, 2010 | 4:12 AM ET”), and currently read ”…including 28 foreigners, authorities said.”
Interesting because they conflate “state media” with “authorities!” Do keep this in mind. Let that stench roam around for a while and think about it. Think about it next time you are choosing to cast a vote for “progressives”, such as those who all support the state-owned media in Canada, and freedom-loving conservatives.
MORE “authority”-speak:
(state-owned)
…State media said the plane was an ATR-72 twin turboprop……State media said the names of those on board…
…AeroCaribbean is owned by Cuban state airline Cubana de Aviacion. …
And here’s a gratuitous photo of the progressive leaders of Canada (Liberal leader Pierre Trudeau) and Cuba (Communist dictator Fidel Castro) from days gone by.
