I finally figured out why Layton’s you’ve got to be kidding party don’t call themselves what they are—the national Socialist Party of Canada—as I’ve been insisting they do just to reveal their hidden agenda; and choose instead to continue to deceive some of us by continuing to call themselves the “New Democratic Party” (and wow: still “new” after all these decades of same-old, same-old socialism…). It’s because the name was taken already!
It was this little article that reminded me: it was neatly tucked into last Friday’s National Post. No doubt you’ve already heard about it all over the news media—on TV (especially the CBC), in all your local papers, on one of the 8,000 CBC radio stations, and so on.
Oh what’s that? You never heard a cotton-pickin’ thing about this? Huh. That’s weird. (Just kidding!)
Former lecturer charged with hate crimes
Adrian Humphreys, National Post
Published: Friday, January 25, 2008A former university math lecturer who founded the National-Socialist Party of Canada, which uses Nazi swastikas and pictures of Adolf Hitler to promote itself, has been charged with the wilful promotion of hatred.
Regina police searched the home of Terrence Cecil Tremaine, 59, last June, seizing a computer, CDs, DVDs, computer software and books, including Hitler’s Mein Kampf.
On Wednesday the former University of Saskatchewan lecturer was summoned to a police station, arrested and later released on bail. He is charged with promoting hatred against an identifiable group through Internet postings between Feb. 1, 2004, and Nov. 1, 2007. It is punishable by up to two years in prison.

I don’t think Layton’s tribe are Nazis. In fact some of their sympathizers have called me a Nazi. I’m not sure why. I’m not really that socialist.
But next time you hear one of your socialist friends call a conservative a “Nazi” (usually prompted by your calls for clamping down on prostitution, pot-smoking by our nation’s kids, abortions at 8 months, or sex between “consenting” 12-year-olds), remind them that the Nazis were a socialist party—both the one in Germany, and one of the ones here.
They’ll forget in three minutes, but you’ll get a bit of a rise out of them before they tootle off to smoke a joint.
I looked for some information about this on the New Democrats Online web site, which is a left-wing blog aggregator of sorts (they say they’re not affiliated with the NDP—so you can see how confusing they’re all making this… they say this on one page: “Welcome to the Beta version of New Democrats Online, the next generation site for the Blogging Dippers community. The Blogging Dippers is an online community of bloggers who support the New Democratic Party or its policies. This site is part of an ongoing project to build a new online home for our community.”).
I found this there. (It links off their site to what I guess is a member-blogger). It’s not really related but it’s fun:
