Spot the winner: Katie Couric’s PrObamanews ratings lowest since Nielsen started ratings; and Palin?

It’s one of those huge Drudge panels which ruins people like Katie Couric’s day.

Meanwhile, perpetual Couric target Sarah Palin draws huge crowds everywhere she goes and has huge ratings in-state and across America.  To prove she’s still feared by the Left even today, they still take all manner of cheap shots at her and talk about her all day long (often in hateful, abhorrent, egregiously disgraceful and distasteful ways).  Actual article written up today:  “Comedian on Today Show Trashes Sarah Palin: She’s ‘Very Much Like Herpes’”.  Last night on Letterman:  S Letterman says Palin sports a “slutty flight attendant look.”  And said her daughter “was knocked-up by Alex Rodriguez”.

One of the reasons Couric is such a failure is possibly things like this:  Since running for VP, Sarah Palin was hit by over a dozen clearly questionable lawsuits and accusations of ethics violations, all launched by liberals trying to foil her attempted run at the VP job in the last election.  All along the way, Couric and the other media reported the charges with great fanfare.  I dare say glee

This week, she was cleared of the last of those accusations.  That means she was cleared in all of them.  It reportedly cost Palin personally about a half million dollars in legal fees, which for someone like Katie Couric, who reportedly makes millions upon millions of dollars per year despite being a failure, is chump change.  For Sarah Palin it is not.  And of course that attempt at bankrupting her was at least half the point.  And the cost says nothing of the fact that it has obviously been a massive time and attention distraction for someone as incredibly busy as Palin, who runs a state, a family, and a solid, growing career (contra Couric).

But Couric didn’t report that Palin has been cleared of anything.  In fact unless you watched it on Fox News Channel or read it at the Washington Times, you probably didn’t know Palin was cleared of anything, ever, let alone of all those phony charges.  I found out on Fox News Channel, which, not merely coincidentally, is miles ahead in the cable news ratings.  This article is from the very good, conservative-tolerant Washington Times

Palin fends off ethics charges

By Amanda Carpenter | Monday, June 8, 2009

The accusations made news, but with another dismissal of an ethics charge last week against Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin, the former Republican vice-presidential nominee has quietly been cleared of every ethics complaint filed since the torrent of allegations began in 2008.

Mrs. Palin, who became a target of such complaints after being named Sen. John McCain’s running mate, is 14-for-14 in fighting off the complaints. She’s been cleared of 13 charges by the independent State Personnel Board and of another complaint by the Federal Election Commission (FEC).  …

Then there are things like this report on Couric’s latest highly paid speaking engagement to Princeton students:

Katie Couric Tells Princeton Grads to Avoid ‘Nastiness,’ Then Takes Swipes at Sarah Palin, Carrie Prejean

CBS News Anchor Katie Couric told Princeton’s graduating seniors last week that they should avoid “nastiness” and then mocked Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin and Miss California Carrie Prejean, while praising Secretary of State Hillary Clinton, First Lady Michelle Obama and Judge Sonia Sotomayor.

[…]

As she started her address to the Class of 2009, Couric told the students, “Coming here was a real no brainer! After all, I can see New Jersey from my house!”

The anchor was referring to an interview Palin gave to ABC News during last year’s presidential campaign, in which Palin had said of Russia, “They’re our next door neighbors and you can actually see Russia from land here in Alaska, from an island in Alaska.”

Couric also took swipes at conservatives Rush Limbaugh, the talk radio host, and Donald Rumsfeld, the former secretary of defense.  She then advised the Princeton grads that they must guard against ‘nastiness.’ … “you really must guard against the cynicism and nastiness that are so pervasive today…

Spot the loser.

EXTRA LOSER:
As far as I can tell, the CBC, which seems to me to obviously hate Sarah Palin and everything she stands for; and the CTV similarly, failed to report anything about Sarah Palin being cleared of all those politically-motivated charges, which they had gleefully trumped-up when they were first leveled against her.
